Q&A With Gina Halberg, Recruiting Consultant
Q: Can you tell us about your professional background and what brought you to Inside Talent?
I have a degree in HR and have always been interested in the field of talent acquisition. I have now been recruiting for 20 years! I am so lucky to have found my way to Inside Talent through my longtime friend and colleague, Danielle Lindquist.
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
The match-making! I love learning about a company's industry, product, or service and who they need to successfully drive their business. Then to go on the hunt and find people whose career goals and experiences align. It is very gratifying!
Q: What is the best tip you would give someone just starting out in recruiting?
Take the time to really listen. Don't make assumptions and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
From the book QBQ - practice personal accountability. Ask questions about what you can do instead of placing blame or making excuses.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my family at their many sporting events or up at our cabin relaxing on the lake.
Q: If you could choose any other job or profession (regardless of talent and ability) what would it be any why?
I would make and sell fun frozen drinks on the beach somewhere tropical because that just sounds really fun.
Q: What are three words that your friends or family would use to describe you?
Kind, Responsible, Strong
