Q: Can you tell us about your professional background and what brought you to Inside Talent?
I went to the University of Minnesota to major in History and minor in English. Then, Inside Talent was my very first job out of college! I started as a full desk recruiter and quickly realized that wasn’t for me. Now I focus on sourcing candidates, running social media, and I work on various research and operations projects to keep the team flowing smoothly!
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
The flexibility that I have in my role! I am always able to work on new projects and learn new things and that variety keeps me excited about my work. Really, I just love learning anything new and this role gives me that. The team here at Inside Talent is also a breeze to work with, we all compliment each other with our skills and talents and I am so grateful for the ease in collaboration that allows.
Q: What is the best tip you would give someone just starting out in recruiting?
Recruiting technology is constantly changing, so be ready to adapt to new searching techniques or interviewing technology. I know we have all had to learn zoom or other forms of video interviewing this past year!
Q: What is the most important thing you have learned working at Inside Talent?
It’s all about people! Recruiting is a people business. Whether it’s finding the right candidate to fit our client’s needs, or making candidates feel comfortable about the interview process, people are always top of mind. Making sure everyone on the Inside Talent team has skills that complement each other is also super important to our success.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
My favorite pastime in reading, but I also love gardening and painting.
Q: If you could choose any other job or profession (regardless of talent and ability) what would it be any why?
